New Hope's Staff members all stand as examples of dedication and personal sacrifice for something they believe in so deeply, but they are only a few people. New Hope would not be here were it not for the members and attendees who give up their weekdays, weeknights, Sunday mornings and afternoons; who offer their time, their businesses, their talents, their equipment, and who even miss the service to build, repair, sing, perform, set up, take down, watch our children, shop, and transport, just to name a few things. It takes over a third of our adult attendees to pull off a Sunday at church. Our Staff Rusty Coram, Senior Pastor Rusty, along with his wife Becky and their children Sarah and Joseph, moved to the DC area in 1991. It was much different from his one time dream of homesteading in the Canadian wilderness! The new dream was to create a church that would help unchurched people discover God's love and purpose for their lives. Before moving to Northern Virginia, he, among other things, started and operated a successful landscaping company in Texas. "The lessons I learned in the marketplace about integrity, honesty, initiative, teamwork and relationships have been an enormous help in leading New Hope. I am fortunate to be part of a great team of people - staff and volunteers - that are fully devoted to helping people discover a life changing relationship with Jesus."Send a message to Rusty at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Chris Hough, Executive Pastor Chris is another import from the Richmond area (a native, in fact). He and his family moved to Northern Virginia from Texas back in 1991 to help get the church started as a volunteer. He came on staff two years later. He is responsible for developing and leading our small group ministry -- an important part of New Hope's vision to help people develop their relationships with God and with each other. Chris also leads our youth ministry & works with Rusty in the programming and planning of our Sunday services. Jim Morgans, Children's Pastor After moving to Virginia in 1983, it didn’t take long for Jim to realize his calling to the ministry. He began as a volunteer in youth ministry for several years, moving on to become a principal at a local Christian School (K4-12th), and then accepting an Associate Pastor/Administrator position where his ministry has touched the lives of countless families. During his tenure, he has successfully developed and operated kids’ church programs, summer camps, weekly school chapel programs, and student ministry events. Known to some as quite the kid himself, Jim’s passion is to inspire and fill the hearts of children and family members with the wonder and joy of our Lord Jesus Christ. He implements exciting, entertaining, and interactive tools to instill the message of Christianity. With a sincere love for the power of music and drama, he always enhances lessons with puppetry, song and dance, characterization, or good old fun and games. Jim had earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Rowan University and his administrative skills are always at work in the midst of any program he leads. Jim married his lovely wife Debbie in 1979 and they have two children: Chelsea and Spencer.
