Small Groups
Are you looking for a place to feel more connected, develop strong friendships, and grow closer to God? Then small groups are for you. These groups provide a place where people can develop close friendships, receive encouragement and support, and learn how to apply the Bible to everyday life. And, if you're investigating Christianity, small groups are a great place where you can ask questions and express honest doubts without feeling "put on the spot." New Hope Church is really a big family and small groups are the best way to feel a part of it. We have something for everyone - men's, women's, co-ed, or couples' groups! The groups vary in size and meet every other week. Each group has its own personality and flavor, so we encourage you to visit different groups to find the one that you like best. EmphasisEach group also has different points of emphasis, depending on the needs within the group. Below is a brief description of some of these: Follow-up to the Sunday MessageThis gives people a chance to talk about Sunday's message and ask any questions they have about it. The groups usually look at other verses from the Bible that relate to the topic and then focus on how to apply the message to everyday life. Topics of InterestThe focus is on relevant subject matter. These are topics that group members want to get a better handle on in their lives. The time is spent discussing what the Bible teaches on a specific subject and then how to live that out. Some examples of these topics are growing in your relationship with Christ, how to handle conflict, dealing with stress, getting a handle on anger, and developing lasting friendships. Curriculum StudiesSome groups select a particular book, workbook, or video-based curriculum to go through together. Groups have studied a variety of topics and they usually last any-where from six to twelve meetings. |
