February 25: Insight Post by Rusty Coram
Wednesday Insight Post

Over the past several months (actually longer), I have increasingly been aware of the amazing responsibility and privilege of being part of a community of people who follow Jesus. The Greek word for community is “koinonia,” which means to share together. I like our English word because it reminds us that we have a relationship with Jesus in “common” and from that we can experience true “unity” as we grow in our relationship with Him and each other.
Throughout the Bible, we are encouraged to pursue several “one anothers” that include:
- Love one another. (John 13:34-35)
- Serve one another. (Galatians 5:13)
- Forgive one another. (Colossians 3:13)
- Accept one another. (Romans 15:7)
- Motivate one another. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
- Encourage one another. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
- And pray for one another. (Ephesians 6:18)
When we pray with and for one another, we experience something that is unique and amazing. We are in the presence of our Heavenly Father, who knows us, loves us, and is ready to provide everything we need to live full and impactful lives. When we pray for each other, we get to be partners in all that God is doing. Imagine that – we are partners with the Creator and Savior – what is greater than that?!
