August 29: Insight Post by David Schleyer
Weekly Reading: John 2:1-11
Friday Reflection
God’s Abundance is More Than Enough: The wine that Jesus provided was not only abundant but also of superior quality. This demonstrates that God’s blessings and provisions exceed our expectations when we place our trust in Him.
Friday Verse
Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:20 (NLT)
Friday Questions
Where in my life have I seen God’s abundant provision? How can I cultivate a heart of gratitude for His overwhelming blessings?

John 2:1 through 11 tells about the wedding at Cana. The party was going strong until the wine ran out. That may not sound like the end of the world to us, but in that culture, it was embarrassing and shameful. A wedding was supposed to be a celebration that lasted for days. Running out of wine would have left the family humiliated.
Mary goes to Jesus, and even though it seems like He is hesitant, He steps in. He tells the servants to fill large jars with water, and then He turns that water into wine. Not just any wine, but the best wine anyone had ever tasted. And not just a little, but enough to keep the celebration going for days.
That moment says so much about how God provides. He does not just cover the minimum. He provides in ways that are overflowing, surprising, and better than we could imagine. When I look back on my life, I can see times when I felt empty. I was stressed, worn out, out of hope, or worried about how things would work out. Just like those jars at the wedding, I felt dry. Then God stepped in. Sometimes through people, sometimes through an open door, sometimes in ways I never could have planned. And what He gave me was always better than just enough.
The wedding at Cana shows me that God is not distant or uninterested in my everyday life. He cares about the details, even the ones that may feel small. And He is more than able to take ordinary water and turn it into something extraordinary.
