Holiday of Hope
This Thanksgiving and Christmas, our community has a special opportunity to help our neighbors and share the love of Jesus in a real and personal way. Many families in Northern Virginia are feeling the strain of the ongoing federal government shutdown. For households with federal employees and contractors, paychecks have been delayed, and for others, the ripple effects have reached jobs tied to federal work, local businesses, and schools.
Because of this, we have seen an increase in requests from local schools and community partners for help with the most basic needs, such as food, toiletries, and essentials that most of us take for granted. Families who were already struggling are now facing even greater challenges.
That is why we are expanding Holiday of Hope this year. Through this effort, we can bring hope where it is needed most. When the world feels uncertain, the church can shine brightest. Together, we can remind families that they are seen, loved, and never forgotten.
There are many ways to help. You can start by praying for families in our community who are feeling the weight of this season. If you'd like to do something more tangible, see the options below.
