Weekly Reading: Luke 17:11-19

Friday Reflection

Faith Leads to Wholeness: While all ten were physically healed, only the one who returned to give thanks received the greater blessing of spiritual wholeness. Jesus shows that faith not only brings physical restoration but also deep, spiritual healing.

Friday Verse

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. Romans 5:1-2 (NLT)

Friday Questions

In what ways can I deepen my faith to experience greater wholeness in my life, beyond just physical or material needs? How can I cultivate a heart of gratitude and seek spiritual restoration, knowing that true healing comes from a close relationship with Christ?

Friday Insight Post
by David Schleyer

The story of the ten men with leprosy in Luke seventeen has been sitting with me. All ten asked Jesus for help, and all ten were healed. But only one turned back to say thank you. Jesus told him that his faith brought him a deeper kind of renewal.

That word hits me. I want a renewed life, not just a fixed moment. But I do not enjoy slowing down enough to notice what God has actually done. Slowing down feels inconvenient. It interrupts my rhythm. It forces me to face things I would rather rush past. And honestly, it costs me something. It costs me control. It costs me comfort. Sometimes it even costs me my excuses.

But when I do slow down and look back with gratitude, something shifts inside me. I remember who God is. I see how far He has brought me. I realize I am not doing any of this alone.

So here is my challenge to myself, and to anyone who needs it. Do not just ask God for help and then hurry on. Take a moment to turn back. Notice what changed. Say thank you. Let gratitude do its work. It might be the one thing that helps you experience the kind of renewal you have been waiting for.
