I Declare War

Learning to Live with Courage, Strength and Integrity

Life is a series of choices - a battle between right and wrong, better or worse, good and evil. We can choose to follow Jesus, who offers us love and life in abundance, or we can allow temptation, selfishness and sin to cloud our judgement. So, how do we get out of our own way and quit making poor decisions? In this series, we’re going explore the power of three words, I Declare War. We’ll look at different ways our words, thoughts and actions can sabotage our good choices and how we can learn to rely on God’s power and resources to gain healthy control of our lives.

Week 1 Message-  Mind of Matter

Key Verse(s)- Proverbs 23:7, 2 Corinthians 10:5b, Phil 4:8

Our internal dialogue has tremendous influence on our mindset and how we react to life. Ultimately, what we think determines what we do. Getting a handle on this is our first priority in declaring war.

Key Verse(s)- James 3:3-5, Ephesians 4:29, Psalm 19:14

Words are powerful and can accomplish good or do great harm. By harnessing the power of our words, we can have a positive impact both on our lives and those around us.

Week 3 Message-  Actions Speak

Key Verse(s)-

The Bible doesn’t tell us to try – it tells us to trust. When life gets hard, the best defense is a good offense. God has given us resources that will help us succeed. These include the Holy Spirit, the Bible and the Church.
