Small Groups— the place where the Bible and life intersect.

At New Hope, we define small groups as a caring network of relationships which allow seekers to investigate Christianity at their own pace and equip believers to grow as followers of Christ. Small groups are very relational and heavy on application. We like to think of them as the place where the Bible and life intersect.

Small groups are also the best way to get connected at New Hope and grow in your faith at the same time. In fact, it is one of our core values, “Connected People Grow.”

Take a few minutes to look over the information below. We would love for you to check out a group. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Are you interested in joining a small group, but have questions about which one might be a good fit for you?  Are you uncertain about what our New Hope Small Groups are like? Plan to join us at our next Small Group Connect and get your questions answered. We will have representatives from our Small Group team and Celebrate Recovery available to answer any questions you might have.  Now is a great time to jump in and get connected. Your faith journey was never meant to be experienced alone! Click here if you have any questions.

Starting Point is a conversational environment where people can explore faith and experience community. Starting Point groups are safe places for people with questions about faith, as well as those who want to learn about the Bible and Christianity. Groups meet for 10 weeks (with an introduction class as well) to explore the grand story of the Bible.

You may have questions that you’ve always wondered about but never felt you could ask at churchlegitimate questions that would make many Christians uncomfortable. Ask them. Nothing is off-limits. We want to have conversations about the stuff that really matters to you—even when it’s difficult to talk about—especially when it’s difficult to talk about.

Starting Point is designed for:

  • SEEKERS: those who are curious about God, Jesus, the Bible, or Christianity.

  • STARTERS: those who have just begun a relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • RETURNERS: those who have some church experience, but have been away for a while.

We offer Starting Point several times a year.

Journey Groups are short-term small groups that provide an opportunity to experience small group community for those that can’t commit to a long-term group. We try to offer one group for men, one for women, and one for couples. Please note that childcare is not provided for the Journey Groups.

We offer Journey Groups three times a year. Each group lasts from 4-8 weeks depending on the topic. The groups either meet at New Hope Church or in someone’s home.

Our small groups are our primary means of discipleship at New Hope and we would love to see everyone involved in one. With our growing church, we need to start a lot of new groups!

So what exactly are we looking for in a potential small group leader?

  • Has a personal and growing relationship with Jesus

  • Shows a desire to see others grow in their faith

  • Demonstrates a willing, teachable heart

  • A Parntner of New Hope Church (or willing to attend next Discovering Partnership Class)

  • An active volunteer on one of our other ministry teams (or willing to begin volunteering)

The vast majority of our new small groups are formed at GroupLink and start with a study called “Community.” This eight-week study takes your group through all the things that are necessary to build a healthy community. At the end of the eight-week period, your group will decide if they want to continue or not. Most of our groups do continue, but some decide after eight weeks that it isn’t working and they disband. Everyone that starts in a new GroupLink group knows that they are only initially committing to eight weeks and then they can decide whether to continue or not.
