The Book of Revelation Made Clear (Co-ed)

Leader: Bill Soderberg

Day/Time: Tuesday evenings at 7 pm on Zoom

First Class: April 6, 2021

Class Length: 7 weeks

The class will comprise seven 90-minute instructional periods, scheduled one per week. The course will address the subject of eschatology, the subject of the end of human history, focusing primarily on the culminating Bible prophecies outlined in the Book of Revelation. This course is designed to explain the purpose and importance of the end times in Christianity as God’s means of bringing about the final implementation of human redemption necessitated by man’s fall in the Garden of Eden. While pivotal to the fulfillment of God’s plan for His creation, it is one of the most controversial subjects in the faith and has been so for centuries.

The book, The Book of Revelation Made Clear (TBRMC), by Douglas Connelly will be the accompanying textbook for this course. The class is largely lecture, but interaction with the class members is expected.

How to Read the Bible Like a Seminary Professor (Co-ed)

Leader: Bill Soderberg

Day/Time: Thursday evenings at 7 pm on Zoom

First Class: April 8, 2021

Class Length: 6 weeks

For many, trying to understand the Bible can be an intimidating task. Readers often don’t know the cultural and historical background for various passages in the Bible, or even understand the context in which a message was originally given.  Theological concepts and doctrines may be unclear or even unknown. Parts of the Bible are written in different styles, further complicating understanding. Contemporary translations of the Bible try to simplify the message, but these works also face the problem of not capturing the whole picture for the reader. In this course, you can learn how to unlock some of these mysteries by using the same techniques that professional scholars use.

In How to Read the Bible Like a Seminary Professor, you will take a six-week journey into the structure and style of the Bible, learn its different literary genres and their purpose and gain tools for studying the Bible for the rest of your life. Participants will read and use the course book How to Read the Bible Like a Seminary Professor by Dr. Mark Yarbrough from Dallas Theological Seminary to unpack the Bible and get insights into reading and mastering the Bible for your own life studies and ministry. Participants will review the reading and enjoy lively discussion and be involved in practical applications in class. Participants must purchase the textbook and they should have a Bible app on their phone or device in class through which they can access several different translations of the Bible.

The Color of Compromise by Jemar Tisby (co-ed)

Leaders: Elaine Ward and Kim Feld

Day/Time: Thursday evenings at 7 pm on Zoom

First Class: April 8, 2021

Class Length: 12 weeks

The Color of Compromise is both enlightening and compelling, telling a history we either ignore or just don't know. Equal parts painful and inspirational, it details how the American church has helped create and maintain racist ideas and practices. You will be guided in thinking through concrete solutions for improved race relations and a racially inclusive church.

The Color of Compromise is not a call to shame or a platform to blame white evangelical Christians. It is a call from a place of love and desire to fight for a more racially unified church that no longer compromises what the Bible teaches about human dignity and equality. A call that challenges black and white Christians alike to standup now and begin implementing the concrete ways Tisby outlines, all for a more equitable and inclusive environment among God's people. Starting today.

This class will be using the book The Color of Compromise by Jemar Tisby. The book can be purchased through

Cherish: The One Word That Changes Everything for Your Marriage (for Couples)

Leaders: Jim and Debbie Morgans

Day/Time: Thursday evenings at 7 pm on Zoom

First Class: April 22, 2021

Class Length: 6 weeks

Millions of couples getting married have pledged to "love and to cherish, until death do us part." Most of us understand and get the love part... but what does it mean to cherish our spouse? Why do we say it once at the wedding and then rarely even mention it again? Cherishing can have a powerful effect on marriage. Learning to truly cherish each other turns marriage from an obligation into a delight. It lifts marriage above a commitment to a precious priority. Cherishing can breathe light, hope, and new life into a marriage—even one marred by neglect and disrespect.

The Cherish Study Guide is needed for the class and can be purchased at
