Your But's Too Big

Even the greatest warriors in the Bible were worriers, and many of them had GREAT reasons to do so. Worrying leads to excuses, which can prevent us from living out our God-sized dreams. After all, He has a unique plan for each of us and nothing should get in the way of that. During this series we’ll look at four of the biggest excuse-making ‘buts’ of our culture, and then learn to leave them right where they belong – behind us! When God calls us, he wants all of us – no ifs, ands or buts.

Week 1 Message- But, I'm Hurting

Date- January 7th & 8th, 2017

Key Verse(s)-  2 Cor 12:7-9, 2 Cor 1:4,6, 1 John 4:4, 1 Pt 2:24, Luke 23:34, Col 3:13, 1 Cor 13:5

Speaker- Rusty Coram

Every human experiences pain. C.S. Lewis said, “God whispers to us in our pleasure, but He shouts to us in our pain.” When we begin to recognize that God is with us in our pain, we can learn to help others in their pain. After all, the real test isn’t the pain, but how we respond to it.

Week 2 Message- But, I'm Afraid

Date- January 14th & 15th, 2017

Is 41:10, 1 Pet 5:8, Mt 6:25-34, Ps 23, John 8:12, Ps 16:8, Phil 4:6-7

Speaker- Rusty Coram

Fear is a powerful, deadly and highly contagious disease. You can contract it from others and you can contaminate others. But fear isn’t from God. It’s either created in our own human minds or it’s from the devil, who loves when we make excuses. Whether your fear is based on past experiences or current struggles, faith in God and His word can help you find peace.

Week 3 Message- But, I Don’t Have Enough Money

Date- January 21st & 22nd, 2017

Key Verse(s)- Phil 4:19, Ps 24:1a, Ex 16:11-18, Ps 119:105,  John 14:16-19, 1 Cor 3:16; 6:19, Matt 19:26, Pr 16:3, Ps 81:10

Speaker- Rusty Coram

God guides; and where He guides, he also provides. We just have to trust Him. Maybe you have a dream that sits on the back burner because of a lack of money. Or perhaps our greedy culture has you confused about wants vs. needs. God left us a couple of great guiding lights to help us find our way.

Week 4 Message- But, What Will People Think

Date- Janaury 28th & 29th, 2017

Key Verse(s)-  Gal 1:10, Ps 73:2-3, Prov 29:25, Ps 139, Gal 6:4, Col 3:23, Prov 14:26, Prov 4:23

Speaker- Rusty Coram

There are countless motivating factors that can shape our lives. The desire for power, possessions, prestige or pleasure can drive us. The desire to please people can drive us, too, leading us into a crippling trap of comparison, insecurity and worrying what others think about us. When you compare yourself to others, one of two things happen: You either think more of yourself, or you think less of yourself. Both are sinful.
